Very interesting topic I would have to say. I would really feel bad to be Mr. McCarthy ... having my name be a part of a bad word is not what i strive for.
Sweet, I didn't know that we could post comments. Anyways, I read those three articles, and was suprised how much the Salem Witch Trials were like the time when McCarthy started accusing people. I did not realize how similar the two time periods were before. Hargis, good point about how you would not want to have your name remembered as a bad thing. I, however, hope that MccArthy does feel bad about what he did, because he should. His actions were unexcusable. I din't realize that Wikipedia was so popular. This makes two of my teachers who have mentioned Wikipedia.
I just realized that you can't edit posts. That is really stupid. I was going to edit into my post that you should tell our class that you can post comments here. It would be pretty fun with a lot of people posting.
Or maybe when you have us read an article, tell people to post a comment. When you say something in class, you have to think it up on the spot. When you type, so have more time to choose your words, so you can say what you want to say more clearly and more strongly.
Maybe Mr. Joe McCarthy was testing us. An experiment to see if the Americans would stand down and let the wrong take over, or stand up for their own civil rights!
Wow Tiffany! That is a great idea! He could have done just that. Imagine all of that a test ... and the U.S. failed terribly too.
I like the credit part Mr. Wilson! Posting is fun.
Jason, good thought on telling the rest of the classes about the posting. However it should not be a requirement becuase not all people have a computer at home.
Interesting idea Tiffany, although I doubt many people would belive it. Yes, Hargis, posting is fun, and that is why more people should post. Also good comment about how if it had been a test, that the US failed miserably.
Hargis; Meh you said you believe it to some extent, but that is pretty much a no. Neither of us believe it completely, although it is a very interesting idea if truth be told.
I'm flattered to know that my idea is interesting. But I'm not saying that it's entirely believable. What I was trying to do was simply provide a different point of view in seeing Mr.Joe McCarthy. What motivated him to do such things?

Jason,
Good idea to mention to the class that they can comment. Maybe we could get participation credit? What do you think?

Jason,
You doubt many people will believe Tiffany and yet the post before (my post) says I do ... to some extent (I still doubt it too though).
