I am really liking how the author gradually made the pigs superior to the other animals after the rebellion. I also find it interesting how he turns them into humans. It makes you wonder about his opinion on humankind.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

This book is really good but pretty sexual. The author relates sex to almost anything,it's very deep and funny at times.I have about 3 more chapters left in the book and I still can't tell if he is writing in 3rd person or 1st. It's very unique writing style. It takes a while to adjust to, but I still enjoy reading his work.

This Boys Life

This book is better then the plague which i read last time. It is not all sermon like the whole time. I can actually relate his experiences to my own life which is kinda cool. The book is really sad in one way but still really funny. I keep waiting for somebody to die, just because of the content and such. But for being a true story its pretty good.

I am reading The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. The Bonesetter's Daughter is a really good book, and the importance of holding on to family and the culture of a person's past is shown very beautifuly. The color and description of the sections detailing the story of Liu Luling and that of Precious Auntie held so much to them that the reader feels as if she is a part of the tale, and more than just an outsider watching from behind one-way glass.

The Things They Carried

I am really enjoying this book a lot! I Like the way it has so many different stories about the different people and you get to see all the different personalities. I also think it is really original how the author uses himself as a character. I am really enjoying it.

I'm reading Night- Surprisingly, after all the bad things I've heard about it, I really like it so far. I am 3/4 of the way throught it, and the story(so far) has been really strong and moving. To even think about how these situations would feel; If you see your family members thrown into flames, or friends beaten by the police. The imagery really makes the story a whole lot more intense, but that is the main reason why I've enjoyed it so far.

I'm reading Night- I've heard it's a good book and must i say it it a good book a side from all the sadness in the story. the story has a lot of imagery and has situations that you would never think people would be in! like seeing people being burned by the dozens! I think it a pretty good book!

I am reading This Boy's Life and I have really enjoyed it. It is interesting to see a child/preteen boy's perspective of the world and society. It is a pretty easy read so that is nice. I am amazed at how the author could remember all his thoughts from when he was a kid, so I'm pretty sure he just guessed. Overall, a really good book, probably the best autobiography I've ever read!

The Right Stuff

I watched the movie, and the book was even better. Even though it's almost 500 words, it keeps you interested. And even though it's just a story about astronauts, Tom Wolfe adds a lot of personal details like the trauma of the pilots wives, and the enemas. But I won't talk about enemas anymore Mr. Wilson. I was surprised that I learned so much about those first seven, and I feel like I know the whole insides-and-outs of the first trip to space and the pressure they felt from America to be their "perfect heroes".

I'm reading Animal Farm, by George Orwell. I really like how the whole book is basically symbolism of the communism going on in Russia during the time. Since we just studied about the Russian communism in history, it's easy for me to relate the different animals in the story to histrical figures such as Napoleon based on the leader Joseph Stalin. I like how the book seems simple but there are underlying messages and symbols that go much deeper.

I'm reading "The Things They Carried". I am enjoying this book, however confusing it can become sometimes when the author inserts a story about himself. The novel is very graphic and often very harsh. I think I'm enjoying it because I start to feel outside myself; I know what the soldiers felt. That was my semi-colon.
And that's about it!

I'm reading "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith. Overall i think it is a very well written novel. It addresses the struggle that men and women migrating to america face, which is losing their cultral identity.

I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye and I just finished it yesterday. I thought it was a pretty good book. It's kind of like a whole bunch of stories within the main story. The main character tells alot of his personal tales as the book progresses. Sometimes it gets confusing.

I am reading Catcher in the Rye. I haven't finished it yet but so far it's a pretty good book. I like how the main character is coming of age and when you're reading about him he seems alot older than he actually is. I also like how that narrator is also the main character and he is telling his story.

I'm reading Cat's Cradle. It's a very unusual book; the plot takes all sorts of very random turns that really shouldn't make any sense. The characters are eccentric but not dramatic, although dramatic things are happening around them. I'm starting to think that's the point.

I'm reading The Plot against America. It's a really good book. Though it's kinda scary and really makes me think of how luck we are that history didn't happen like that. It has it's quirks and makes me laugh. The author really did a great job when he wrote this book, it really raises the awarness of how luck we were to be living in America

The Red Badge of Courage

I just started reading it and I am not completely sure what it is about yet. It seems like a very slow moving book and since it is about war, I should probably except lots of dying soon.

I am reading The Catcher and the Rye. So far i have really enjoyed it. It has been a lot nicer read than 1984 was. I like the perspective in which the story is told, and how open he is to speak his mind and feelings. Id like to know how this book was given its name...

I am reading "Night" by Elie Wiesel. The intensity of this book makes the reader truly feel like they are part of the holocaust. I can’t imagine that people believe that such a terrible tragedy didn’t happen when books like Night, The Diary of Anne other terribly sad novels have been written. This is definitely one of my favorite books and I would totally recommend it to anyone wanting really good (and short! =] ) read.

I'm reading The Moon Is Down by John Steinbeck. I really like the book because it closely realates to the war that we are in right now. The way that the people of the town rebel against the occupied troops is alot like the people in Iraq.

I am reading A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. So far I find it real horrorshow. I think the way the author creates a whole new language with different terms and such is interesting. The ideas the characters in the novel come up with to fight crime are quite different. The society they live in is something that is quite demented but interesting to read about. So far I am really enjoying it.

I am reading The Plot Against America. It is a really good book so far. The author does an amazing job telling the story of what America would have been like if Roosevelt was not elected. I've noticed a lot of symbols so far such as the stamp collection and the dreams that the main character has. It's a really good book so far but it just takes a little while for me to process what is being said sometimes.

Animal Farm

I found the book slightly predictable after chapter five but i still enjoyed it. I wondered about Orwell's opinion of republican politicians/corporate "pigs"-not to make a generization or anything. I makes me want to be a person who changes the world, and upholds equality among people. I found it related with how the whole "hippie" mindset, much like communism failed, due to such corruption.

Night

Sad and intreging. The author uses great imaging in his writing and helps the reader understand more about his hardships through his choices in vocabulary. It is more personal of a diary than any other novel I have read before. It is very good.

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest so far is very interesting. I have been seeing a lot of metaphors being used and i dont know if that somehow has to do with the theme. but the characters are very contrasting and its going to be interesting to see how the Big Nurse is going to react to McMurphy's rebelling and always getting her goat. Will she prevail? Or will McMurphy?

The red Badge of Courage

This book is good so far, i really like how it only takes a chapter to actually get in to the book. I find it wierd that the book is told in the authors point of view. The main character is refered as he or the boy, not his actual name. I still have alot to read about this book, and I only hope that I can keep track of who the author is talking about.

The Plague

The book is very detailed and surprisingly grim. I did not think that it would go into such detail about how each person died and what the atmosphere was like during the plague. Overall it is a nice fast pace book. I am enjoying it very much

I am reading "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Konnegut. I really enjoy the voicing that Vonnegut uses in his novels. The story slowly makes the characters seem more and more insane. Vonnegut's black humor is nothing to be looked over, either. His direct and humorous approach to this story makes it all the more enjoyable without losing the meaning.

I am reading Animal Farm by George Orwell. It is really interesting to see how the animals in the book are coping in a world without humans. It's interesting to see how the point of the rebellion was to break away from humans and at the end of the book it just ends up to be that the pigs conform with the humans.

Whoa...sorry this is late! I totally forgot about it until I started checking the blog since I was gone.

Anywho, I am reading Johnny Got His Gun. It was substantially enjoyable. I will be the first to say it was hard to get into, but once I got past the first 100 pages the novel became more engaging. I was really confused in the beginning when Johnny kept having flashbacks and going between his two girlfriends. It was awkward trying to focus on when the action was occurring. All in all, it was a pretty good book.
